FI-Core is a research project under the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for R&D&i, within its public/private collaboration to develop the Future Internet Public Private Partnership or FI-PPP.
Specifically, the objective of FI-Core, within the FI-PPP framework, is to give continuity to the work of developing FI-WARE, a key programme project and with many members in common. The open middleware platform, called FI-WARE, was developed between 2011 to 2014 as a platform for implementing new applications and new services relating to the Internet of Things, sensor networks, Open data and Smart Cities.
